Flu Vaccinations at Kingswood Health Centre

Our Saturday Clinic dates for 2016 are being held on the 8th and 22nd of October and 5th November.  Flu is a highly infectious illness that spreads rapidly through the coughs and sneezes of people carrying the virus.

Flu symptoms can hit quite suddenly and severely. They usually include fever, chillds, head-aches and aching muscles. You can often get a cough and sore throat. Because flu is caused by a virus and not bacteria, antibiotics won't treat it.

Anyone can get flu, but it can be more serious for certain people, such as the following At Risk groups:-

- People aged over 65

- People who have a chronic medical condition

- Pregnant women

- Some children

Therefore the NHS offers free vaccinations to all those patients 'Over 65' or in a recognised 'At Risk' group.

If you are over 65 and would like a Flu vaccination please ring the surgery, selecting option '2' after 10:30am or use our online booking system to make your Saturday clinic appointment. If you are in one of the 'At Risk' groups, we will be contacting you to book your appointment.

Our Extended Hours/Saturday Clinics

From 1st July 2016, Kingswood Health Centre will be changing how it delivers extended hours to patients.

We will now be opening 2 Saturday’s each month, instead of every Saturday.

Each Saturday we open we will be providing a greater number of routine appointments to our patients, with a wider clinical team on site. Our Saturday clinics will remain pre-booked appointments ONLY and we will continue not to operate a telephone service, or walk-in facility on Saturdays.

A schedule of the Saturdays we will be open can be found here.

Minor Injury Service - April 2016

Kingswood Health Centre are pleased to announce that from 01/04/2016 we will be hosting a Minor Injury Service for our patients. The new service will be available during normal GP surgery opening times on weekdays. At your appointment you will be seen by a Nurse trained in treating Minor Injuries. You may be referred to a GP, another care centre or given advice about self-care if required.
